In what situations do you use a sewer inspection camera?
Our leak detection department uses sewer cameras to inspect and map drainage systems, both inside and outside homes and buildings. This is carried out for both private and industrial clients.
What challenges do you encounter when carrying out an inspection?
The camera head of our standard sewer cameras often proved to be too large and not flexible enough during inspections—particularly in rainwater pipes with a diameter of around 80 mm. This meant it was not always possible to carry out a camera inspection over longer distances. On occasion, the camera head would also get stuck.
What were the consequences of these problems?
During inspections where a full camera check was not possible, we often had to rely on other techniques, such as tracer gas, to achieve a result. Thanks to the purchase and use of the MiniFlex, we can now identify and map potential issues—such as breaks, cracks, or subsidence—much more quickly and efficiently. In addition to saving time, this also provides greater clarity for our technicians and insured clients.
Why did you choose the MiniFlex?
The MiniFlex we purchased had already been tested for some time by one of our technicians. We quickly saw the benefits it offered, which led to the MiniFlex becoming part of the standard equipment for all 30 of our technicians.
